Tuesday Night Dinner

I decided that I wanted to make my Mom's Chile Soup tonight. It was always one of my favorite meals she made. I had made it before on those nights when she wasn't home in time to make dinner and as the oldest girl the responsibility of food fell to me. I remembered it being super easy but I couldn't remember any thing she put it in. So before I left for the grocery store I called her up and asked her how she made it.

"Oh, I always just made the recipe of the back of the McCormick Chile Seasoning Packet."

And I thought it was some special recipe that only my mom knew about.

Mom's Chile Soup

1 Chile Seasoning Packet
1 lb Ground Beef
2 Cans Diced Tomatos
2 Cans Spicy Kidney Beans

1. In a large skillet cook the beef, drain fat transfer to large pot.

2. Mix in seasoning, tomatoes, and beans with the liquid. Bring to boil then reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes occasionally stirring.

3. Enjoy

  1. Yes, Fiestaware is quite wonderful. We have some of those exact bowls and adore them. (When I saw this photo, I had a brief disoriented moment where I thought, "Is that our kithcen?"
