Style File: Home

Taking notes on small spaces incase we ever get to move!

Every little girl wants a canopy bed. I had a tent that fit over my mattress when I was five. It had different shades of pink on it a front door and two windows. It was awesome and makes me think having canopy we be even more decadent.

Style File: Fashion

Started Elsie's style school this week. We have "homework" which is collecting all of the pretty things that we find inspiring.

This doesn't look much like a going out outfit, but I love everything about it. The rest of these look like perfect going out attire.

Loot at those awesome boots!

Prius Red

Last night I found these images of a baby Prius concept car with toyota is designing!

And we all know babies are adorable

and also very space age?

The green is good, but Prius red would be better don't you think? Have you noticed how amazing a red Prius is? It has to be one of the most perfect colors on earth.

Wish List

I love book stores. The smell, the lighting, the warmth, the background noise all of it is telling me to buy, buy, buy! So I have started a new tradition of taking photos of the books I want on my iphone so when I get home I can look them up and see if I really want them with out the book store seducing me.

Here are the ones I have taken these past couple weeks

Listography

We met Donna and Jim for a lovely lunch today at one of our favorite places, P.F. Changs. It was so good it makes me want to go back tomorrow. We also went down to the book store and Donna got me a little (awesome) book I found hanging out with the 50% off calendars.
Wooo Hooo! I love Keri Smith, I love Lists, I love journaling, and I love strange illustrations. Donna said she thought I might be addicted to small little books i can write in. Something I have known for a lonnnng long time. This is the perfect addition to my collection. Thanks!

I resolve to make everyday brighter.

If there is one thing I learned in college it is don’t be mad. I know that it seems like a simple message to come away with after five years but in those five years I learned there is a lot to be angry about and everyone sure does seem to be angry. Angry about science, art history, not everyone loves the movie you love, not everyone thinks the exact same way you do, this person believes in Jesus, that person doesn’t, this hippie drives a hybrid, that ass hole drives a hummer, your daughter likes glitter, someone is taking a little too long in the shower. Anger is controlling the world and if we start with something little like, hey, its ok that we all like different things maybe that thought process could trickle up to our bigger problems.

Yes, there are problems we have every right to be mad at, it is easy to see that most of the time the world is totally unfair. The anger is necessary to help us see our problems but during the time of the 24 hour news cycle it has also become a way of life. In a search of things to fill the airwaves the talking heads are infecting everyone with anger simply because that is what makes people tune in. It is so easy to be angry lets move on to the not so easy stuff. We need to start listening to ourselves as well as the news and teaching our children understanding, equality, that the world can be a wonderful place if you make it that way. Things wont change overnight but if we start now our grandchildren will be able to live in a better world than we do. Change happens one person at a time and I don’t know about you but I am one person and I may not be able to do much but I can do a little and if everyone did a little we would get a whole lot.

Happy 2010

All of us (meaning me, my husband and my in-laws) went out to see Up In the Air today (great movie by the way) and then we went over to Texas Road House to get some beer and snacks. I tried the Sam Adam's Wintar Larger(very yummy by the way) and Jim ordered a blooming onion. In the middle of all this Achy Brakey Heart came on and now I have had it stuck in my head all day. What I am trying to say is today was pretty much the perfect start to a new year.

A Very Arizona Christmas

We had such a wonderful time in Phoenix with Kendra and Adam. Look for yourself!

We went to In-N-Out. That was the first time I had, had it and now I am dreaming about it. We might have to abandon Savannah for In-N-Out

Here is our shot of "the girls".
