On our iPhones

I am so glad that Mark and I have the same taste in music. Sometimes I don't like the music he likes and it is painful for me to listen to music I don't like. But I listen to it for him, because I love him. And he does the same for me. It is so much easier when we both like it though because we also both tend to get a little obsessive with music we like, so we listen to it over and over and over again.

Introducing our newest obsession..... The Gorillaz' Plastic Beach. Soooo good.
I love, love, love them. It still surprises me every time I listen to it. Plus, it is the perfect background music for this amazing summertime weather we are having. Thank you mother nature!

Regina

Was reading rockstar diaries the other day and came across an interview with Regina... they asked her about her goals she has set for herself, she has a great way of saying these things. I think it is something that everyone wants but no one knows how to communicate it.

Regina:

To feel like they’re actually doing something and not just reenacting the same thing over and over, and not getting stuck.

Just opening your mind and seeing more of the world and trying to understand how people live and what they think.

All that stuff that will sound really fluffy and disgusting if you write it down. Just be part of the world. Really really live. You know?

One of my big goals is to just not do things out of fear but [to] be really open, which is hard I think. It’s a full time job for people to stay really open. It’s like a second job.

But also - I don’t think it’s good to just do one thing. I don’t think if you’re a musician you should not just be immersed in music. I think it’s really important that if you’re a musician [to] try writing a play or something. Things need to complete other things.

I have no words....

Two Weeks - Grizzly Bear from Gabe Askew on Vimeo.

I would like to point out that this is a fan video. It is not the offical music video but something Gabe Askew created because he wanted to, not for money or a grade.

It will make you smile. I promise.

First watch this really short video where the creator explains what Playing For Change is.

Best video I have seen in a long time.

I love my computer

Have you downloaded the new iTunes? The genius feature is pretty sweet. It allows you to pick one song, you click the genius button and then it creates a play list based on the song you picked. It works really well.

I chose the song Silver Lining by Rilo Kiley, the following is the play list it made for me.

Boy with a Coin by Iron & Wine
Two by Ryan Adams
Your Ex-Lover is Dead by Stars
The Sound of Settling by Death Cab for Cutie
If She Wants Me by Belle & Sabastian
Shadowplay by The Killers
Almost Lover by A Fine Frenzy
Girl by Beck
The Little Things by Colbie Caillat
Samson by Regina Spektor

It all starts in Michigan

Well, we started out in Ohio but we needed some music to help us make it to Michigan.

I wish I had an iPod so I could carry her around in my pocket.

I heard an excellent song on the radio the other day. The DJ said the name of the song was "Almost Lover", but neglected to tell their listeners who the artist was. With a little research a.k.a itunes store I found out that A Fine Frenzy sings it. I also love her song You Picked Me which was a download of the week a while back. I also love her photoblog, which gives a little glimpse in the life of an up and coming artist.

If you need some mellow music to get you through February she aught to do ya.
