Coming soon.

The TealTown revamp is still in full force. There is a shipment of American Apparel shirts on its way and I already have three new designs Mark and I both really like. I can't wait to show them to you. But for now I will leave you with this.

More etsy love, Yokoo

Maybe it is just the freezing cold weather but I have found myself looking at snuggly stuff on etsy lately and dreaming about how warm it would be. I really like Yokoo's Prembroke Cowl.

We could start having dance parties!

Mark and I are trying to stop our pointless buying urges but I cant help but think disco globes are awesome. I think they would make for some amazing pictures.

TealTown UPDATE

I have decided I am going to revamp TealTown over the break. We need to clean the studio and the front room and get the organized so everything is exactly where we need it to be. Plus, we are now going to be printing on American Apparel shirts. Wooo! I started last night and cleaned out the studio. Well most of the studio. The closet is still a mess but I plan on getting that all done tonight. While cleaning last night I found a whole bunch of shirts we had printined in anticipation of either wearing them or selling them and now we have so many shirts we dont need anymore. So TealTown is having its first sale. I documented all of the shirts, bags and scarves I found last night and posted the to the shop at a discounted price.

I do it to myself and thats what really hurts.

I finished up Fall semester 08 yesterday and as I sat on the couch I still felt like I need to be doing something, like there was still a couple of things I hadn't finished. But I didn't. I had absolutely nothing I needed to do. It was weird. It was like before school started when I had time to do other things. Sooooo I went on a run. And part of me feels like it was awesome. I really do miss running it was relaxing and it made me feel much better physically and mentally. The other part of me thinks that running in winter is the worst idea I have ever had. Its freezing, hard to breath oh and I haven't run since October so I again suck at running.

Here is the picture Mark took of me when I came in yesterday because he said I looked "cute". I think I look like one of those idiots you see running in the winter. But I hope I can keep it up.

Tree Decorating 2008

Last weekend was very busy for us. Last Saturday was my families annual decorating the tree party. My extended family has always lived at least two hours away from us so we were always with them over Christmas day. Making a big deal out of decorating the tree is kind of a way of giving us our own special day, it started all the way back when Mom and Dad first started dateing. Then I think it was just a good excuse to have a yummy meal.

This is what I think of when I think of Christmas. Not the opening the presents but yummy food and decorating cookies and family.

Baby Cokes! A staple of the annual event.

Cheesey potatoes. A new staple of the event in honor of Mark joining the family.

We got a little messy decorating the cookies.

Ending the night with The Muppet Christmas Carol.

Christmas in Liberty

Donna and Jim in front of my many prints.

Making Holiday ornaments.

Everybody deserved some home made pie that was donated.

Half price jewelry sale. We got three sets of earrings, one bracelet and one necklace for $2.50.

It's a shame we didn't get a picture of Haley pretending not to like me too.

This is my favorite shot of the day, Donna took this one.

One of my all time favorites

Duane Michals

"This photograph is my proof. There was that afternoon, when things were still good between us, and she embraced me, and we were so happy. It did happen, she did love me. Look see for yourself!"

i LOVE this idea

Camera strap covers! I hate wearing my camera strap, mainly because it hurts! Its scratchy and uncomfortable. Shealynn did something about it and started making these which turns your camera strap from blah to stylish.

It is one of those things where I though.... UH why didnt I think of that?

Now its time to sit back and enjoy

You know that scene in Chocolate where they are having the birthday party for the old woman and there is this kind of weird euphoria in the air and they are eating yummy food and everything is calm? Well thats what it was like tonight after we all got our projects hung and gathered in the small back room of the library to enjoy the birthday cake some of us had bought for our professor. I know that this sounds like an exaggeration, but really its not. It was twenty minutes of just relaxing and not having to worry about anything.

New Book

I love Keri Smith. Every time I read about one of her books I want it. So far the only one I have is How to Wreck a Journal. It was everything I wanted it to be. She now has a new one out that sounds just as awesome. How to Be an Explore of the World

CHECK IT OUT!!!

I had to spend fifteen minutes uploading this three minute and fifty-nine second video but it was TOTALLY WORTH IT! Kendra is part of the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra and this morning a few of the people in their upcoming Chritmas show went live on Good Morning Arizona for a little preview. Now watch very carefully at exactly one minute and fourty-five seconds THATS KENDRA!

We may not get to go see the show in person but this clip was a lovely little taste.

What is that?!

Something I thought I would never see. Tonight I finally finished my personal project for Photography. All thats left to do is hang em up and enjoy the Exhibition next Sunday. Woooo!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I love being on break! I love it so much that the thought of two more weeks of trying to get everything done seems like it could never happen again.

Anyway. We had thanksgiving with Mark's family last sunday and we are going to have thanksgiving with my family this Saturday. That left us with a whole day open of not having to do anything. It was lovely. Dash and I spent some time laying in the sun. I also got some homework done, ate some more peppermint ice cream and played so much Wii Sports that mark and I have sore muscles now.

Hope everyone is enjoying their turkey day.

Happy Birthday you two!

We always have a hard time figuring out what to get Donna and Jim for any occasion. Yesterday was Donna's birthday and Friday is Jim's. Mark and I thought the idea of an advent calendar was pretty cool. Something they could enjoy all the way through December! Of course last year Donna cheated and opened up all the little squares as soon as she got it. But of course I cheated a little last year and used a already made template.

This year I decided to create my own. And in the Christmas spirit I thought I would share it.

download the calendar here, and the template here(if you dont have a flickr account they are free). Place images over the black squares in an image editing software and then print both out use a ruler to cut little doors in the number squares. Glue the two papers together making sure not to glue the doors shut. After the glue has dried cut around the red boarder and enjoy.

If you are up to all that have fun!

Please let me be better by Thanksgiving.

God is testing me

I think he heard that I was going to try and be happy all the time and he said, "Oh yeah? Well how about if your stomach feels like a water bed with people jumping on it all the time, and your nose is runny, and you throat hurts, and you have to go back to Liberty again?"

And then I would say, "bring it."

Living up to the expectation of my tattoo

I am going about things a whole new way. I have decided I am going to embrace everything that I dislike, with the exception of some things like squishy grapes and cold showers.

Yes. I have A LOT to do. But when I think about it I am doing what I love to do. All the projects I have to do I love working on them so why be grumpy about it. Just because there are a lot of them is no reason for me to not enjoy them. It just means when the semester is over I am going to hopefully have great work to start building my portfolio with.

Also all of this Christmas stuff that has been going on. I am going to embrace it starting now. While I feel like Christmas has stolen Thanksgiving away from me I am going to start enjoying it. And when the Holidays get here and everyone is home.... well that is going to be awesome! So why be angry about that?

I have started off by bringing Christmas Crunch in to our home. The holiday shapes are delicious. Mark says we're not allowed to listen to any Christmas music yet sooo I guess I will have to wait until after Thanksgiving to listen to my James Taylor Christmas CD.

Alright. That is enough.

It has been twelve days since the election and I am still reading and hearing about how the black vote came out in full force to ban gay marriage.

Here is some Colbert on the issue.

I would just like to say that the color of someones skin does not make them anti gay. I don't know what makes someone gay, straight, pro gay or anti gay but I do know that we are all human, no matter the color of our skin. The only thing that came out in full force to ban gay marriage two Tuesdays ago was human emotion. Please don't tell me it was the black vote, I find it incredibly insulting. The black person who voted no on gay marriage is the same as me and you and it is unfair to lasso them into a group all on their own because of their skin... as we have done for so many years. In the end realize we are all the same and they didn't vote no because they are black, they voted no because they are a person with emotion and feelings, just like all of the other people who voted yes. We are all EXACTLY the same. When America realizes this..... it will be the America I am truly proud to be a part of.

Have a Visit

If you haven't you should go check out Veer's Idea Galleries. I love the art design and the music, I think I am going to download it and have it looping on my iPhone all day so I can feel like I am in some crazy dream.
