Since we last spoke, in list format

- Spring Break ended and we left Sunny 70 degree Dallas to land in gray snowy Columbus.

- Donna made us a yummy, yummy Easter lunch.

- Mark, Kendra, and I made some vintage suit cases even more beautiful. Pictures coming soon...hopefully.

- TealTown sold it's 100th item, a You Deserve Pie poster! Mark shipped it off to Texas today!

- We went to our first ever Craft show. You can read all about it over at Mark's blog, 8ounce.

- The stress of the final five weeks of the semester smacked me in the face Saturday. Mark declared Sunday as "Don't e'ff with Sam day".

Out of everything we could have said, this is what we came up with.

We found something pretty sweet at one of the shops.

Now we just need to figure out how to get all of them home.

Spring Break 08

Mark and I both bought A Wreck This Journal created by the oh so talented Keri Smith a couple days before we left for Texas. This is my documentation of time passing on the flight down to the Lone Star State.

Now we are here and the weather is a bit rainy today so we are taking advantage of the free internet at Hastings and uploading our new product pictures we got to take before Adam and Kendra had to fly back to crappy Cleveland.

Sometimes she reminds me why I love her so.

Last weekend Mark printed some t-shirts for Emma to sell at the school's Third Grade Bazaar. They let all of the third graders bring in their goods and give them fake money to spend. At the end of the year they can buy things like Red's tickets or a 50 pound Hersey Bar if they choose to save up. Haley sold baked goods and homemade crayons when she did it. I told Emma to let me know how much the shirts went for. Here is the email I received tonight.....

Dear Mrs. Roberts,

The bird t-shirt sold for $300.
And the you deserve pie sold for $400.Thats a lot
Te wearied (the weird) thing is there was only 3 bids for each.
Oh! My friend wants a pine apple t-shirt if that is not to much trouble.
Almost sprig break! Hows mark. Love you.

Love,
Emma

Spring Break... almost

The week is over and I turnd in my Art History Term Paper, got both of my molds made for Ceramics, finished my five peices for drawing and made it through the critique, plus all that other stuff that I don't remember. I got it all done and we are now in the process of getting ready to get ready for Texas. I just put the last load of laundry in the dryer. Mark is currently printing out the postage for the last of the orders we need to send out, and apprently I need to iron shirts now.

1st I need an espresso.

1st Walk of the Spring

I love the intenet

A lot of the time I feel like I spend way more time looking for inspiration than I do actually creating. I have been finding a lot of fantastic things lately.

Alie Edward's Blog

Bittystarr's
papercuts.

D. Sharp Journal

Esta Sketch's Comic Illustrations are pretty awesome as well.

I found Kurt Halsey's art a long time ago. I loved it then, and love the new stuff he is doing.

The pleasures of Shriver.

I have found a spot in the basement of Shriver. There are little red comfy chairs and windows that surround it and it is perfect for napping. I wish I hadn't found it because now I can't help but hear it calling to me during my break on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the break that I use to use to get some reading done. Now I use it to snuggle in and pass out for about forty minutes before I continue on with my day.

If I can't have a sail boat I could at least have part of the sail right?

I don't remember where I saw these bags made out of recycled sails but I WANT ONE. Specifically this one...

Car Ride Home Conversations

"You are so annoying."

"Ha hah! You have to love me forever! You promised."

My first Blizzard

Over the weekend when I had time to do what I wanted it looked like this. Now that it is Monday and I have spent all day in class and am now stuck in the cave that is the lab people have continually come down just to point out how lovely it is outside.

Today

Today has been a weird day. In list form...

1. This morning Mark got out of bed before me, soon after I thought I heard him scream. A horrible scream. One that made me believe he was in pain and I was going to find him flat on the floor with a body part cut off. Before I was able to pull myself out of sleep I was out of bed and screaming his name. Because I was still asleep and freaking out the noise that came out of my mouth made me sound like I too was dieing. We met each other in the hall soon saw that nothing was wrong with either and then figured out that I had dreamed the sound of Mark yelling. In my head I can still hear it and it still makes me feel horrible.

2. When I put my contacts in this morning there was something on one which I am pretty sure scratched my eyeball. I left the contact in and went to class, half way though I had to take it out because I couldn't focus on anything but how annoying my eye was. After it was out I couldn't see anything and my eye still hurt. I then looked as though I was winking constantly.

3. We started going over our dream projects in Photography today with half of the classroom lights off, while my seeing was still messed up. That would have been weird any day. (You can see mine at flickr. I tried to upload it here, but it is so large it looked weird.)

4. There is apparently a huge winter storm coming through in the next couple days and people are preparing for the end of the world. At the store tonight everyone had carts full of toilet paper, milk, bread, and Pringles. Mark and I on the other hand walked out with Reese's Eggs and Acrylic paint.

Hmmm I guess thats not really all that weird. But living it was pretty weird.

In good news we sold another pair of curtains tonight. We weren't sure what colors we could offer so we went out to check out our selection.

My half asleep list

1. I have wanted to make a quilt for a very long time now. Courtney Russell's "Been Around The Block" Quilt has inspired me yet again. Now if I could only find the time, and a sewing machine.

2. I think the fish have figured out that one of my biggest fears is walking in to find them floating at the top of their bowl. They have now started remaining motionless whenever I walk in the room we happen to have them in.

3. Here is an amazing website full of PDFs of old Calligraphy books.

4. I am going to bed.
