Holga Photographs by SamanthaCOMING SOON!

At the beginning of the summer I asked my photography professor if he had a Holga that I could use for a summer class I was taking. He had a pretty brand new one still in the box and everything.

Then I ended up dropping that class and never getting around to buying film with out the excuse of spending money on class. I figured I could do some experimenting with it this semester though so the film came in the mail yesterday! I decided to go with black and white because I can develop that myself for no extra cost. Here are some examples from the lomography website of the kind of photos the Holga takes.

It's going to be fun. I will upload my pictures sooon.

LET THE WILD RUMPUS BEGIN

I got around to making Jane her Max hood and this one is way better than the first one! It also took about half of the time.

I am celebrating my first ever completed sewing machine project with a cup of soy chocolate milk... I think this puts me one step closer to being a total hippie.

Just calculated

87
Days until GRADUATION!!!!!

I looked up my graduation date for the first time and realized that it is exactly one week before Christmas. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO MEEEEE!

Oh! I am so excited I can hardly stand it!

7 Things to Love This Monday

1. Free People

We sell free people at work and I love everything that comes in. It is a little pricey for me but they always have great ideas and styles.

2. Heather paying for her children's college education off of other peoples hate.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Heather is my hero.

3. Creative Economy Tee

No matter what your specialty they have your tee.

4. Darling Dexter's photos of Savannah

Have I mentioned that she is living my dream right now? She is attending SCAD for photography, living in a 150 year old house with her husband and pup and she just open her own successful etsy store.

5. Ms. Zooey
Mark and I watched Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy again. She is so cute we were both crushing on her a little bit.

6. Vinilla Bycles
Perfect in every way. Dont bother lookin at the price every inch is customized to your body and they are on back order for four years. A little out of my price range but I love looking at them.

I LOVE MY HUSBAND!!

You know when you are young and naive and you think to yourself my husband is never going to snore, every night we are going to drift to sleep together with only the sound of crickets in the background?

Usually I love listening to Mark's soft snoring and trying to figure out what he is dreaming about by interpreting each little noise. But lately he has had some allergy problems and the snoring is much more pronounced so all I can hear now is "I AM A SLEEP YOU ARE NOT....I LOVE TO SLEEP.... SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP.... YOUUUU.....ARE.... NOOOOT...AAASLEEP.........AND I AM," I then do my signature move of flopping over a little to energetically to wake him up just enough to stop the snoring but not enough to bring him all the way out of sleep. If that doesn't work I snuggle up next to him and scratch his back or run my fingers through his hair until he wakes up a little. And if that doesn't work, like it hasn't been lately, I wake him up and ask him to roll on his side. This is the conversation that follows:

"I wasn't snoring."

"Yes you were."

"No. I wasn't even asleep."

"You were snoring I promise and then I asked you to roll over..."

"NU UH THAT WAS LAST NIGHT!!!"

Currently teaching myself how to sew.

I have wanted to learn how to sew for... oh.. a couple years now. At first I wanted to sew quilts and I still do but now I also want to start sewing my own clothing. I can never find what I want in the store and when I do it is way out of my price range. So I stared looking around and found millions of patterns on the internet that are exactly what I want. In fact I found a "simple" guide to making a cute skirt on BurdaStyle tonight. I say "simple" because it is except I have no idea how to translate some of the sewing slang they use. I have been looking up terms and I am slowly starting to understand more of what I am reading. When I get good I am going to order some of Amy Butler's Lotus Fabric collection and make the perfect high waisted skirt. I don't care if it takes me until next summer to do it. I am going to do it.

I did make this for my little neice the other day. Turned out pretty freaking cute if you ask me. I think I need to make another one though and improve upon all the little mistakes I made the first time around. Maybe I can fit that in sometime between working and finishing my paintings this weekend. If I do I will be sure to let you see a picture.

I only have one class today and for some reason that seams like to much.

One thing I love about school is that when you dont want to do anything you can show up looking like this and no one cares.

Cowl in Charcoal

Fall is on its way and I am trying to find every reason I can to be excited about it. I really do love fall the crisp air, the campus exploding with the color of the leafs but I know when I look at those leafs they are going to be gone soon and then it is a long, cold road until everything is green again.
I am not saying that this cowl by jezebel would fix everything but it looks so cozy and warm I would welcome a day when I would need it to keep the chill off.

Handmade Nation

Look at this amazing skirt at darling dexter's new etsy store. I love the idea of hand made clothes and when they look this pretty I can't help but daydream about having one myself.

Happy Memorial Day

I hate saying goodbye to Summer so I am going to say hello to all of my favorite fall things like caramel apples, the smell of burning leaves, sweaters, jackets and boots.
