Zeek

Mark snapped this picture while we were home last week. He never blogged it so I am going to. Everytime I see it my face turns in to a pout. I can't control it. He looks so sad but cute in the way only a pup can get away with.

It will make you smile. I promise.

First watch this really short video where the creator explains what Playing For Change is.

Best video I have seen in a long time.

Kitteh

Stacy found a kitten last weekend in the alley behind her apartment. So of course she has adopted it until she can find a home for her. MeowMiss, the name given to her by my printmaking instructor has been accompanying Stacy to all of her classes and studio time which seems to be pretty cool with everyone. There was even talk about adopting her as the photo cat. I think she might need a new name if she was the photocat though.

Bring out the big lights

I finally learned how to use the big flashes. We went home last weekend to have some fun with Katie and Erik.... loook how hot they are. Also, Katie might have the most perfect skin on earth.

I think this next one might be my favorite shot of the night. We didn't have a fan so Mark and Erik waved magazines to get Katie's hair to blow around. All three of us could hold it together long enough for me to get a couple shots in before we started laughing.

Blaag

I have been posting lately but havent had any time to talk about what has been happening around here. Because there is a lot I am going to do this in list format

1. I was sick. I didn't do anything but sleep for a week and when I got up I was so tired I couldn't make myself get anything done. But now I am better and slowly checking things off of my to do list. It is amazing how much easier it is to complete things when you aren't sick.

The view from the urgent care room I spent all day in

2. Mark taped his first wedding! He is working on editing right now.
3. I was nominated to be a part of the Student Show Case in the art building so a bunch of my stuff was hung up in the lobby. Not all of that is mine, just the stuff on the left.

4.Our little garden is growing very nicely. I can almost taste the fresh peppers already!

5. The weather turned wonderful for a couple of day so Mark and I were finally able to get out an run, which always makes me feel so much better. I don't think Mark is to the point where he can enjoy it but he keeps going back out with me.

6. I volunteered to photograph the MS Walk this past Saturday. The weather was perfect and I meet some great people. Photos coming later.

7. We got another person who would like us to tape and photograph his newest product for him soooo tomorrow we are going to film people using "The Shot Bong".

8. I screen printed my first four color process print.

I love school. There is no way I would have learned how to do that anywhere else. It is a huge pain in the butt and so cool when it is done.

9. We've got two weeks left of class and I know I will get everything done that I need to, but right now I dont feel like that day will ever get here.

10. We needed a change, something fun, something little so we brought the mattress out to the living room and have been watching movies, reading, crafting and napping. It has been so nice and relaxing. There is a celing fan in the living room. I love sleeping with a ceiling fan overhead.

Lisa Hannigan

You may know her from her work with Damian Rice, but she released a solo album this year that is wonderful. Her music videos are just as wonderful and inspiring.

Let the grilling begin!

YAY! We love grilling. I think we grilled out everyday last summer. It makes cooking so much more fun! I found this recipe today and decided to try it. It was so good. Usually vegetarian recipes are always lacking something, mainly taste. This has plenty of taste and it was all delicious.

While we were cooking the veggies I noticed that a bird had built a nest on our porch so I had to check it out. I found three very pretty little eggs nestled in the middle.

Sun is amazing!

Everything is so much better when the sun is out. My clothes look better, music sounds better and school is great!

Speaking of sun. Lindsey sent me an email today to let me know that her little trip to University of California Riverside was everything she wanted it to be last week and she sent in her acceptance letter today. It's weird. I feel like we should still be in high school talking about where we were going to go to undergrad, and anything after that was the future future that we had no idea about and didn't need to think about. But it is here now and Lindsey is moving to California where it will be sunny ALL THE TIME.

Look how happy it makes everyone

I would love to be a part of something like this. The hours of practice would be totally worth it.

Ohmygosh

Have I told you about my new dream job? It is to be the presidents photographer. Not necessarily Obama's photographer, just the photographer to whatever president is in office at the time I can get that job. Did you know the president has his own photographer? Yup. They follow him around everyday with a really nice camera and all the accessories to snap his picture. That sounds awesome to me.

Ummm Never mind.... they have them in YELLOW!

Well if we ever move to London I've got my rain boots all picked out.

Love at first sight

Hunter

I love my job!

I lab monitor and usually, like tonight, it consists of me sitting in the basement all by myself with nothing to do and no one to help. So I am getting paid to do my home work and video chat with Markie.

Cuties are pretty adorable

For most of this week I have not been feeling very well. I have had multiple head aches and my stomach has constantly been upset with me. Plus, no matter what I did I could not stay awake. I fell behind on my grocery shopping and ran out of fruit around Monday. I finally started feeling better today and had the time to fill up my fruit bowl. I also picked up a Kind Bar per Kendra's recommendation! Soon after that though my throat started hurting which is always a major sign that I am about to get sick. I took everything I could, it was no use I am already losing my voice and it is getting much more painful by the minute. I really hope this is only allergies an not something worse.

Fashion Takes Flight

A couple friends and I shot the MU Fashion show last Thursday. I took around 600 pictures and only got about four that I really like. This one is my favorite of the night.

And yes for those of you who recognize it, that is the ball room in the Oxford Community Arts Center where Mark and I had our reception. I love that room. It is prefect for everything.

Speaking of Tea

My friend has this amazing tea travel mug thing. We have our first class together every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. She always has it but I never took the time to examine it until last week. It is a travel mug with a special tea infusion thingy that makes it so you can put your lose leaf tea in (which I have a BUNCH of) and just go. All it really is, is a mesh wire thing that blocks the tea from getting to the lid. GENIUS!

I looked it up tonight and apparently it is part of some big diet thing where you are supposed to drink this tea in the morning and that tea in the evening and then do three circles after every four sips. Whatever. I don't want their Teavalize tea, I just want the mug... which when I finally found it was pricey. Of course. Maybe I should just McGiver my own.

Sleepy Time Tea might be my favorite tea.

I can't sleep. I have been going non-stop since last week and finally everything is done. Tomorrow all I have to do is go to class where in the first one I plan on taking pictures of pretty trees and the second one is to be held at a bar Uptown. After that it is down to Covington to stand around in a pretty gallery and talk about art for a couple hours. I think my brain is still going, going, going when it can finally stop. Everything is done but I cant seem to stop thinking. So I am sitting here with a cup of sleepy time tea listening to the little noises that the house makes. Me time. Of course it is 2am and I would like to be asleep, but that isn't going to happen.

Guess what!

It looks like Oxford House is going to have at least fresh tomatoes to enjoy this summer and maybe more!
