Happy Thanksgiving!

I love being on break! I love it so much that the thought of two more weeks of trying to get everything done seems like it could never happen again.

Anyway. We had thanksgiving with Mark's family last sunday and we are going to have thanksgiving with my family this Saturday. That left us with a whole day open of not having to do anything. It was lovely. Dash and I spent some time laying in the sun. I also got some homework done, ate some more peppermint ice cream and played so much Wii Sports that mark and I have sore muscles now.

Hope everyone is enjoying their turkey day.

Happy Birthday you two!

We always have a hard time figuring out what to get Donna and Jim for any occasion. Yesterday was Donna's birthday and Friday is Jim's. Mark and I thought the idea of an advent calendar was pretty cool. Something they could enjoy all the way through December! Of course last year Donna cheated and opened up all the little squares as soon as she got it. But of course I cheated a little last year and used a already made template.

This year I decided to create my own. And in the Christmas spirit I thought I would share it.

download the calendar here, and the template here(if you dont have a flickr account they are free). Place images over the black squares in an image editing software and then print both out use a ruler to cut little doors in the number squares. Glue the two papers together making sure not to glue the doors shut. After the glue has dried cut around the red boarder and enjoy.

If you are up to all that have fun!

God is testing me

I think he heard that I was going to try and be happy all the time and he said, "Oh yeah? Well how about if your stomach feels like a water bed with people jumping on it all the time, and your nose is runny, and you throat hurts, and you have to go back to Liberty again?"

And then I would say, "bring it."

Living up to the expectation of my tattoo

I am going about things a whole new way. I have decided I am going to embrace everything that I dislike, with the exception of some things like squishy grapes and cold showers.

Yes. I have A LOT to do. But when I think about it I am doing what I love to do. All the projects I have to do I love working on them so why be grumpy about it. Just because there are a lot of them is no reason for me to not enjoy them. It just means when the semester is over I am going to hopefully have great work to start building my portfolio with.

Also all of this Christmas stuff that has been going on. I am going to embrace it starting now. While I feel like Christmas has stolen Thanksgiving away from me I am going to start enjoying it. And when the Holidays get here and everyone is home.... well that is going to be awesome! So why be angry about that?

I have started off by bringing Christmas Crunch in to our home. The holiday shapes are delicious. Mark says we're not allowed to listen to any Christmas music yet sooo I guess I will have to wait until after Thanksgiving to listen to my James Taylor Christmas CD.

Alright. That is enough.

It has been twelve days since the election and I am still reading and hearing about how the black vote came out in full force to ban gay marriage.

Here is some Colbert on the issue.

I would just like to say that the color of someones skin does not make them anti gay. I don't know what makes someone gay, straight, pro gay or anti gay but I do know that we are all human, no matter the color of our skin. The only thing that came out in full force to ban gay marriage two Tuesdays ago was human emotion. Please don't tell me it was the black vote, I find it incredibly insulting. The black person who voted no on gay marriage is the same as me and you and it is unfair to lasso them into a group all on their own because of their skin... as we have done for so many years. In the end realize we are all the same and they didn't vote no because they are black, they voted no because they are a person with emotion and feelings, just like all of the other people who voted yes. We are all EXACTLY the same. When America realizes this..... it will be the America I am truly proud to be a part of.

Have a Visit

If you haven't you should go check out Veer's Idea Galleries. I love the art design and the music, I think I am going to download it and have it looping on my iPhone all day so I can feel like I am in some crazy dream.

What a lovely day for an election
